There's no place like home for the holidays

As 2009 winds to a close, we travel north, from Lafayette, LA, back home to Grand Rapids, MI. We're parked outside of a Bdubs in Bowling Green, KY at the moment, letting our driver catch some Zs.
What have we been up to, you may ask? Well back in October, we had an amazing show in Grand Prairie, TX, with Halestorm, Saving Abel, Puddle of Mudd, Chevelle and Alice in Chains. Days later, we embarked on our 2-month tour with Saving Abel, Red and Taddy Porter. (Side note; Leigh, Shane, Dylan and I just did double shots of Jager and Mountain Dew. Don't ever do that, it's awful.)
So Saving Abel and Pop Evil joined forces again, Starting in Corpus Christi, TX, and ending the tour short in Allentown, PA, Nov. 28th, due to some health-related problems. Shenanigans along the way included cruising through the streets in the bed of a pickup truck, "going to hell" in Cincinnati, OH, to Shane getting second-hand pepper sprayed in the vicinity of a bar fight. All of that led to a legendary night where our driver, Danny, became the first man we know of to ever crowd surf through a tour bus.
After all that, we did our own thing for a few, which ended up with a co-headlining show with Halestorm in Huntsville, AL, and Within Reason was there too. It was an amazing night, to cap off an amazing year. A big thank you to anyone and everyone that we met along the way, we could not have done it without each and every one of you!
When the new year begins, we will be heading back into the studio to continue work on the follow-up album to Lipstick on the Mirror.
For those of you in Michigan, don't forget about the Grand Rapids show at the Intersection Dec. 26th, as well as the New Year's show in Pontiac at the Crofoot Ballroom, Dec. 31st!

Welcome to October

Hey everyone, it's October again, and this year has flown by! 17 months on the road so far, it feels like it's been forever since I've had a normal "home life."

That's not to say that being on the road has been absolutely amazing! I've met lots of amazing people and made tons of new friends!

Yesterday we were at Bayfest in Mobile, AL, with Cavo, Halestorm, Chevelle, and 3 Doors Down. What a freakin long day! First time ever seeing Halestorm, and they are great, both on and off stage! Can't wait to see them again in 3 weeks!

Hi There!

Hi there! I'm still alive, however, since getting an ipod touch shortly after my last post, I rarely ever pull out my computer anymore, and I'm far too lazy to type updates on an ipod, so alas, you all suffer. My apologies.

On a good note, I apparently have a twitter, so if y'all are just mostly interested in where we're at, or what we may be doing at any given time, check that out!

On the news side of things, I'm chilling in the dressing room in Gilford, New Hampshire, tonight is the last show with Judas Priest, and in a few days, we will be in South Carolina, and by next weekend we will be back in Michigan for a couple days. Yay for going home!
Time to get back to work!

It's March!

Holy cow, I've been slacking for a long time! Sorry about that, things just kept piling up!
What have you missed? Quite a bit! Since my last post, we met a great band named Vaeda, who became great friends of ours, stopped in at home for a bit, went back out with our buddies in Egypt Central, hooked up with Theory of a Deadman and Framing Hanley in New York, spent Thanksgiving at Niagra Falls, travelled into the frigid cold of the Dakotas, where we got to experience a week straight of temperatures that did not rise above -15 degrees F, and then finally returned to Michigan for Christmas. That was a nice break.
Starting the new year, we did a few weekends of headlining shows in Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio, met up with Saving Abel for a show in Alabama, and jumped on tour with Saliva. Saliva is a great group of guys, we've had so much fun with them, from wandering Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras, to freezing in Maine in more sub-zero temperatures. We've also had a couple great bands with us along the way, Aranda out of Oklahoma, and Since October from Florida. Also great guys. Matt now uses Kustom bass amps, Tony plays through Krank amps and Dean Guitars, Dylan plays ddrums.
That brings us up to the present. We're just east of Seattle, WA, tonight is our last show with Saliva, Tomorrow is my Birthday, and we have a super busy month ahead of us! But the most exciting thing is that in the last week we finally picked up a record deal through Universal Republic.
This is a such a great feeling for all of us! To top that off, 100 in a 55 is now top 20 in the active rock charts.
The next few weeks are shaping up to be very exciting, and I'll definitely keep you all updated on the news!
